BioInnovations Gateway is a life science incubator that also functions as an educational institution and workforce training facility. We provide access to laboratories, scientific equipment, engineering shop, office space, and resources for high school students and entrepreneurs as they work together to develop next-generation medical technologies.
Our Mission
BioInnovations Gateway is connecting education with entrepreneurship. Early-stage life science sustain a competitive edge by sharing state-of-the-art space, equipment, services, and talent in a cost-effective manner, and students can develop creative thinking and biotech work skills in a product-driven environment.
Goals
To provide a competitive edge to life science start-up businesses by providing access to state-of-the-art space, equipment, talent, and services in a cost-effective manner.
To provide a workforce training program offering real-life, hands-on experience in which students develop creative thinking and biomanufacturing work skills in a commercial environment.

Our Partners
Granite School District (GSD) spreads across central Salt Lake County, Utah. About 70,000 students are enrolled in its programs ranging from kindergarten to twelfth grade. It operates 8 high schools as well as 2 alternative high schools, 16 junior high schools, and 60 elementary schools. This makes GSD the largest school district in the state of Utah. GSD currently houses BiG and has expended significant resources to provide the cutting edge space that our client companies use to perform ongoing research and develop their technologies. GSD also purchased much of the lab and prototyping equipment for R&D activities.
BioUtah is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(6) trade association serving the life sciences community in the state of Utah. Comprised of manufacturers and developers of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and biotechnology products as well as government, academic, and health care institutions all focused on improving health and wellness through the delivery of innovative technologies and services. Among their members are those who support our industry such as national trade associations and key service providers. Together they create a community that fosters collaboration, promotes innovation, and accelerates health care advances to save lives and improve the quality of life.
The mission of the Granite Technical Institute (GTI) is to support students in finding personal purpose, potential and a pathway to their future. This is accomplished by helping students achieve in their program and to move seamlessly to further training and employment. Efforts are being made to directly align critical academic subjects with Career & Technical Education courses, promoting real-world application to academic theory in such areas as mathematics, science and English. GTI trains and provides the interns employed by BiG clients.
